This site concentrates mostly on discussing pain, and arguably coming down with the Covid 19 Coronavirus disease qualifies in that regard!

This topic—as others have pointed out—has become weirdly political and partisan.

As for me, given my age and health condition, getting both shots of the Moderna vaccine seemed like a pretty good idea. I’m glad I did it.

Now, with that said, lately—August 2021—there’s all sorts of chatter about how a third booster shot may be necessary.

I see Dr. Fauci, at this moment, is giving his four reasons why I should get a third booster shot.

Immunological Basis Supporting a 3rd (Booster) mRNA Immunization

He calls this the Immunological Basis Supporting a 3rd (Booster) mRNA Immunization

  1. Antibody levels decline over time.
  2. Higher levels of antibody are associated with higher levels of vaccine efficacy
  3. Higher levels of antibody may be required to protect against Delta: (Moderna and Pfizer data agree on this point.)
  4. A booster mRNA immunization increases antibody titers by at least 10-fold

So, I’m not a physician. With that said, the list seems to be kind of common sense to me.

The Biden administration is now recommending a Covid booster shot after eight months.

As for me, when I hit the eight month mark I’ll roll my sleeve up and get a third jab.

And, I just came across this interesting info:

The Biden administration has decided that most Americans should get a coronavirus booster vaccination eight months after they received their second shot, and could begin offering third shots as early as the third week of September, according to administration officials familiar with the discussions.
